Meet the Doctor

Dr. Jimmy Wadley

I got my first pair of glasses on Valentine's Day of the third grade. My mom might have gotten tired of listening to me read out loud every road sign and billboard on the way home from the eye doctor's office. I was fascinated!

Contact lenses entered my eyes and my life when I was 16. My wonderful big sister paid for those! I was fascinated again. How could these tiny pieces of plastic do what they did.

My fascination with optics blended well with my desire to become a doctor so I could help people. I realized I could help people have healthier eyes and better vision. To me, Optometry was the profession that would enable me to spend my life helping people see our wonderful world better.

I graduated from Abilene Christian University, Magna Cum Laude in 1976 and received my Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1980.

My wife and I have one son, three daughters, and eleven grandchildren. Keeping busy with family activities and community involvement is no problem.
